Make & Take: Introduction to Alcohol Inks

Explore the vibrant colors of alcohol inks. Participants will create two smaller practice pieces on yupo, then create a final piece to mat and frame (5 x 7). No brushes are used. The artist moves the ink by tilting the paper and occasional use of a cotton swab or coffee stirrer.  You do not need art skills to create beautiful pieces of art.  Patience and persistence will yield a piece to be proud of.  The process of creating with alcohol inks can be quite meditative and fun as you watch the inks move and merge in surprising and beautiful ways. The art inspires the imagination to see various forms in the abstract ink patterns much like seeing shapes in the clouds.
