About Us

The Fair Hill Nature Center inspires stewardship and community through outdoor environmental education. We are a private nonprofit 501(c)3 located within 5,600 acres of MD state natural resources management area. We occupy the historic DuPont fox hunting lodge near the covered bridge in Fair Hill. Founded in 1990, we host over 5,000 public elementary students for field trips each year. They lean about insects, ecosystems, soil science, water quality, recycling and protecting nature. We charter an Eagle Scout troop, host summer camps, birthday parties and the statewide Envirothon competition.
