Cecil County Health Department and Union Hospital of Cecil County, in partnership with Cecil County’s Community Health Advisory Committee, are pleased to announce the launch of the Cecil County Community Health Survey. Conducted every three years as part of a comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessment for Cecil County, this online survey seeks to gather information on community members’ perceptions on health and quality of life in Cecil County.  Responses to the survey, along with local public health data and information gathered through focus groups and interviews with community leaders, will be used to set health priorities for Cecil County and inform the development of a Community Health Improvement Plan.

“We’re excited to collaborate with the community to identify health needs,” says Jean-Marie Kelly, Community Benefit Coordinator at Union Hospital.  “Community feedback from the survey is integral to identifying needs and creating strategies to improve health in Cecil County.”

“The survey provides valuable insight on what community members feel are the most pressing health issues in our community,” says Daniel Coulter, the Health Department’s Director of Health Planning. “The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. It is important that we hear from as many people as possible, so that we can develop a plan that truly meets our residents’ needs.”

The survey is open to all Cecil County residents, ages 18 and over and will remain open through the end of September. To complete the survey, please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CecilCountyCommunityHealthSurvey. The online survey will also be made available at computer stations at Cecil County Public Library branches.  Paper copies of the survey will be available at the Health Department’s main reception desk, Union Hospital’s customer service-lobby, and Cecil County Public Library branches’ information desks.  For questions about the survey, please contact Daniel Coulter at 443-245-3767.
